Skull Lust

I seem to be all about lust this week.

(Yeah, I can hear you in the back, whattya mean this week? – shaddup, willya.)

First there was tattoo lust, then seventies-spanish-babe lust, and now we’re back to my unending desire for cool skull rings.

We’ll talk about my other, never-satiated lusts later.

I just found a new ring maker, who, I think, might have beaten my Clapton Skull as the coolest realistic skull ring ever – the DeadRingers classic skull:

Classic

(click the image to enlarge, or here for an alternate view – the ‘order’ link is here along with some other jewelry)

I fuckin’ want this thing. I can see it on my hand, next to my prized Tony Creed skull.

This is a stunning ring. Absolutely stunning. The only issue I have with these guys is that they’re priced too high (Though not absurdly high like Bill Wall). But they’re shooting higher than Tony, and for less fully custom work. That’s the only reason I have not already ordered this ring. If they would knock that price down just a little they’d have my business in two fucking seconds.

But you know, it’s on my wish list, so anyone who wants to show daddy some love

  1. soooooo . . . what size would one get, if one were going to get one? And how many woodchucks WOULD… never mind.

  2. Aw . . . my funny thunder was stolen by the errornati. You know them, they’re the 12th degree Scottish Rite Masons that want to rule the Whirled.

  3. Hmmm… In your meanderings, Karl… have you perchance, just maybe seen, farfetched as it is, a 4 to 8 band puzzle ring of skull/s (without snakes)? Skull with bones is OK (but no snakes)? And if so, where might one purchase such a thing?

  4. Hello mate
Im from the UK and we seem to have a lot in common in the search for a classic “un scary” non “over the top” skull ring.
Your search started with the clapton ring mine started initially for a search for a keith richards ring….anyway i have seen everything bad and good and just now i have discovered this little beauty ( I prefer the jawless one)
check them out….good price too and you can have your initials on if you wanted but i dont know about that yet?

P.s. Thanks for your links and stuff as i didnt know about the shop in london i shall go check it out soon !

  5. My wife just got me the Classic Skull from Dead Ringers in 18k gold for Christmas. It is amazing (as is she) – definitely the nicest piece of jewelry I have come accross. The detail is incredible and it is very realistic. Mark at Dead Ringers was great to deal with – customer service was terrific. I would definitely buy from him in the future and I would highly recommend Dead Ringers to anyone in the market for a classic skull ring.

  6. Heya!! My mate is the dude making his “Dead Ringers” skull rings, I have just seen that he has some pretty good deals happening at the mo for the festive season, so check out his updated site, he’s also releasing a new limited edition ring called “Armagedon”, not cheap but well worth the investment- your great great grandkids will still be wearing it!!

  7. shayne, I promise, I’ll buy one of those rings one day. they are the best. The classic is the sull I want, I have the image of it on my desktop. Your man needs to get his prices down though, even his sale price is about 1/3 too high. That’s almost $600 in your local currency, and even with a favorable exchange rate my way, it’s still at least a hundered bucks more than that ring should go for.

I’d buy one *now* if the price dropped a hundered bucks more. I *love* those rings. I want one.

  8. I hear what you are saying but rest assured that these are of the finest damn quality you will find!! Steve is the best jeweler I know for freehand work!! He also designed my tattoo, a true “artist”. These are the heaviest rings I have found and I love my “Imperial Dragon” ring, I get soooo many comments on it (I know he hasnt released it yet but it is the business- drop me ya e address and I will send thru a pic). Honestly it will only be matter of time and Steve will have stamped his place on the Skull Ring history!! Get in quick before everyone else 😉 Keep safe!!!

  9. no luck with lionrhod at serrioussilver,no reply,no indication of being in buss.she should take down her site,it’s missleading.my hunt for kieth richard’s skull ring goes on. i bet dave’s skulls or deadringer will bring more success and faster even.joe out.

  10. Joe, I’m tryin’ to get hold of lionrhod. You’re the second person who told me they had problems with serious silver, and in fact I had trouble with them when I first tried to order (I was told they were out of business, then later that they were still in business, then I got a lot of delays with my order). I love the ring I got, but Deadringer is a great choice, as is Dave’s Custom (Who have great prices, and from whom I’ll order a ring as soon as I decide on the engraving – right now I’m leaning toward ‘FTW’). If you want full custom though, Tony Creed’s the man, he can make stuff that’s truly YOU, where Dave’s makes a basic cast ring with the option of a 1-3 letter monogram.

I’d like to see lionrhod get it together but if they don’t, I’m gonna have to pull all my links to them, I won’t recommend a site that’s not doing good business, no matter how good the product is.

  11. will TONY CREED create a k.richards look alike skull ring? with ”crossed bones” on the forehead as my custom? hey,who made kieth’s ring anyway?

  12. Interesting. I’m not one of those who favors the jawless look — I think that the jaw and lower teeth balance the mass of the brow.

  13. LIONRHOD REALLY SUCKS! I WISH I COULD REMOVE HER WEBSITE, I BELIEVE SHE TOOK ME FOR A 50$ DEPOSITE ON MY RICHARDS RING. BUT CREED WILL RESPOND AND HIS ETHIC IS THAT OF A TRUE PRO!

  14. Tony’s the real deal. Can’t say enough good about him. He’s a businessman, an artist and a friend.

I also have to again plug Deadringers. They are *awesome*

But alas, I’m starting to agree with you about lionrhod. I’ve tried to reach them; the site’s still up taking orders, but I don’t know if they’re actually shipping anything.

  15. THIS IS A COOL SITE. WHERE ARE YOU, WHO RUNS THIS? WILL YOU POST A TRIBUTE I WROTE ABOUT THE SKULL AND THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO HUNT AND WEAR THEM? I EVEN NAMED THE ESSAY ”SKULL LUST” AFTER THIS SITE! I have been in hunt for the James Hetfield ring with the fangs for quite some time now. I had sent an order for one to Dream land and I had absolutly no response. I am young but is the hunt for the ring of your desire always this complicated? What does it take to get a nice Bad @$$ ring on a family man’s work finger? Much love, Lil’ Devil~

  23. if anyone is looking for an amazing skull ring, made to look like keith richards, but in my opinion much better, go to http://www.silverlustonline.com. this is the skull ring that zakk wylde from black label society wears and stone cold steve austin himself. customer service is amazing and they can customize wtih anything from jeweled eyes or gold or whatever you want. the pic they have on their site, kinda sucks, but beleive its one of the coolest skull rings ever and is only 165 and weighs 36 grams. if you want a good pic of ring, search brotherhood of the skull ring on google or ask.com and it will come up. you wont be dissapointed.

  24. Don, that doesn’t look much like the BLS rings, I think Dave’s Custom Skulls made those. I can’t sam I’m impressed with silverlustonline’s selection on thier site; I’d like to see more though. There may be better stuff on teh flash version of the site but 1) flash sucks balls, and 2) they made the error of playing music when you hot the site which to me says ‘click away, now’. So I didn’t look hard at the flash site.

  25. to be honest, their site sucks. i have a pic of the ring wich i will insert in this comment. and your half right. daves custom skulls made bls rings that he gave to the whole band, but the brotherhood of the skull ring has a long history. the ring has been given to celebs and other people who have helped out with charities for animals and children for the rock the ranch radio in texas. check out rocktheranch.com. zakk wylde though wears the ring i have.

    (i uploaded Don’s pic here — karl )

  26. The man who made Keith Richards Skull Ring was David Courts. He works out of his London jewellery shop by the name of Courts And Hackett. They won’t make you a replica ring because it’s one of a kind. But a man who does the best replica of the infamous Skull Ring is Dice. Fantastic stuff and the absolute best I’ve ever seen when it comes to getting right down to the nitty gritty of that particular ring.

  27. Hey if you have contact info for Dice I’d love to have it – great info. I found info on Courts And Hackett (though not a web site for ’em), but you know, ‘dice’ is a hard word to google.

all these damned shops in london – crazypig, Courts And Hackett, Great Frog, etc. I gotta get my ass over there again…

  28. Absolutely man,

Dice has a webpage on Yahoo. The link is http://store.yahoo.co.jp/dice/skull-kr.html. One can go to Google and get it translated which does tend to make things easier. The price on the Keith Richards Replica Ring, which is offered in two versions. The KR79 is the way the ring first appeared when it was given to Keith and a good photo is the 1981 issue of Rolling Stone which has the best photo of the ring in it’s new condition.

Now, the KR88 is the ring that I’ve grown to know and love, and how it appears today. Like Keith’s, it’s had it share of teeth loss and it’s just fantastic. There are a lot of large photos which allow you to do side by side comparison which Richards ring and the two replicas. God this sounds like a bad advertisement the more I read this over. The price for it is $234.00 and it was the best purchase I’ve made so far, Although those Tony Creed rings I got off of Blue Lena’s web page certainly got my mind wandering into other areas of money spending!

And now, last and not least, When the Stones were touring behind the Bridges to Babylon album, Their internet store, The Stones Bazaar was issuing official Keith Richards replica skull rings. Now these rings were amazingly cool and had a beauty all their own, But they still weren’t perfect. They had a lot of the look down, But weren’t my definition of replica. This ring can be seen on Bon’s Keith Fanatics site. Unfortunately they are no longer offered, But Ulf KJellstrom offers a replica of the official ring the Stones issued in 1998. His webpage is called Ulf’s List.

So I hope this helps. Love the site.

  29. Hey I’m new to this site, but this message board is great, and I’m glad I found it. I have the large evil skull, and Crazy Pig is good quality, but they fall a little short on detail, purhaps just good rock – n -roll rings. I’m looking at Dead Ringer right now, they have great detail, and the shadow version look’s great. But the best, most detail anatomicaly correct is by Sanjiro silversmith out of Japan, but guess what he speak’s only broken english, and after several e-mails I found out he cannot ship to the U.S., and doesnt know how if he could. Can you believe all the luck. Has anyone else heard of this alchemist, or anyway of getting any of his work. You can punch up Sanjiro silver alchemist on google search and check out his site, great designs. THANK’s

  30. Chaps- both Keith Richards and Eric Clapton got their skull rings from Crazy Pig Designs in Covent Garden, London, which is where I got mine from. It’s exactly what I was after. They’ve got a website you can order from- I don’t think they despatch to the States, though. One word of warning- the jawless Keith Richards skull I got from them has a very wide band, so you probably want to go up at least a size from your usual ring size or it won’t fit right.

  31. “the jawless has been released!!” steves new one is out if you havent already seen him…… cheers!

  32. Finally some good pic’s of the holy grail….Keith Richards skull ring designed by David Courts of Courts and Hackett of London. They now have a small site with good pics, and a good close up of the skull before he presented it to keith. http://www.courtsandhackett.com , No copies are not for sale but the detail is fantastic, and show’s why they are master sculpters.

    Joe

  33. Yes it’s a great ring, the teeth are done perfect, which seems to be hard to find these days. I have been looking for a very detailed skull ring, and have found Sajinro, love Craft, Alley Cat, none of them compare to the Courts and Hackett. Deadringer jawless look’s great, and I would seriously consider getting it but it looks awful small for 400.00 , not the standard 1″ . If anyone know’s the actual size please let me know, I really dont wanna pay that price for a pinky ring, but he does great work. Thank’s

  34. I have the deadringer jawless on its way to me now – i’m hoping it shows up by tomorrow so can post a review before I leave town for a week. Given the huge size of the jawed skull I have from them, I’m thinking this won’t be small.

  35. Here’s some link’s to some Japanese sites…hope they work.

    page.freett.com/onebloodsilver/ – 5k …One Blood has several, including a massive 50gram ring.

members.aol.com/skull%20sajinro/poppyskull.htm – 2k ….Sajinro does without a doubt the most detailed skull I’ve ever seen, dont think he’s in buisness anymore.

http://www.love-craft.com Skull #9 caught my eye, and they have several more.

I’m working on the link for Alley Cat, but everything is in Japanese, so I hope these work. Yes please let me know how the Dead Ringer skull comes out, cause I’m seriously thinking about that one, if it’s a good size. Thank’s

  36. Joe, the japanese just so have my aesthetic dialed in. I’m gonna have to go to japan one of these days just to shop for jewelry.

  37. Hey Joe. Mark here, from Deadringer.
The dimensions of the 1/2 skull are:
Across the skull, cheekbone to cheekbone 12/16″
Teeth to top of skull 13/16″
Height of skull off the finger 5/16″
Width of the band at the back 7/16″
Weight will depend on finger size but it’s around 30 gms average.
Thanks and good effort with the Japanese sites. They’re hard to find and it’s nice work.

  38. Thank’s very much for the stat’s on that ring. I’m starting to really lean toward that one the more I look at the pic’s. As for the Japanese sites , I put them up to show what’s out there, but after several attempts with Sajinro, and alley Cat I’m finding most dont do over sea’s buisness. I’d love to see someone take a crack at duplicating the Courts and Hackett ring, they would be big sellers. Thank’s again for the ring info.

  39. I couldnt believe that there was a site devoted to the ring –I tip my hat to you dude! It was 78/79 when we made the ring- be 30 years next year .
After seeing your site and how many copies are going on, we actually took the detailed picture of the skull off our info website.
HOWEVER I told Keith ( we have been pals for 38 years) how all these people are making money from copying his ring except us – the actual originators and makers .
We now have his authority to do a version of his ring with the same workmanship and attention to detail -if anything it will probably have even more.
If you like I will keep you posted- thanks again for your site.

  40. Dear Mr. Courts

THAT SOUNDS GREAT!!! I’m glad Keith is ok with the idea, and it is sad, all the e-bay knock off’s that are out there, that dont even come close. This is not my site, just came across it in my search for a masterpiece skull ring. Your idea of changing it a bit is fantastic, because it’s Keith’s trademark, and it was a gift. THANK YOU, please keep me posted, I’m very interested.
    Joe

  41. With all the great new’s from David Courts I forgot to add that I recently was able to purchase a ring from Japanesse sculptor Sajinro. After four years, and several attempts I was able to walk him through how to deal with international money orders, and how to ship to the U.S. He does not speak english so he would get his “dictionary” he called it, and write me e-mails, and translate what I was telling him. Believe me when I say he is a man of honor, he wrote me ” first I make ring, then I learn how to ship to you, then you try ring, and then I figure way to recieve monies” all written to his idea of english. He refused the idea of me sending the payment first, would have nothing to do with it. “first you try ring, then send paymeny”. Needless to say most people would require payment fist, but when the ring came it was astounding! A huge 50gram jawless skull with more detail than I have ever seen, and according to Sajinro the only one in the U.S., since he never shipped abroad before. I sent the money order, and exsplained to him what to do when he got it, everything went smooth. Now when Mr. Courts finishes his new ring, I will definatley be in heaven. Sajinro is a great man of trust and honor, and I hope to do buisness with him again. I would like to figure out how to post pics, and then I will put some up. Thank’s,….and Thank’s to David Courts

    Joe Slaier

  42. Wow… this is so cool!!

Karl, I imagine when you started out on your quest for a skull ring, you couldn’t have imagined the international interest your search would generate.

The fact that Keith has given permission for Dave to reproduce THE skull ring is nothing short of amazing!!!(gotta get me one of those) and what I particularly like is that everyone, collectors and designers alike
have been introduced to each other via your site.

It seems at the moment that the world and his wife are all aboard the skull ring band wagon to make a quick buck….but once the fashion for mass produced tat has passed, the handful of real craftsmen/designers (they know who they are) will still be there doing it for real… with a passion.

    Salut
    J.

  43. Just ran across your site while looking for a Keith Richard’s style skull ring. Unfortunately, I found this site after ordering a ring from serioussilver. This seller hasn’t responded to any form of contact. They accept Payment just fine. I am currently waiting for a refund. Is there any date for the release of the David Courts ring?

    Glenn

  44. Not that I have heard. Last fall me and Mr. Courts exchanged e-mails, and I guess he saw all the stuff out there being sold as the “Keith Richards skull ring”, and decided if possible to do it himself with Keith’s ok. I know I cant wait, but I’m sure it will be well worth it, just keep checking back I guess. Thank’s…….Joe

  45. Not sure if this right place for this but like
everyone else searching for my perfect skull ring
Love deadringers but too pricey for me at present will need to save alot. Love the skull with jaw at Daves custom skulls but wasn,t able to order. Managed to get through via contacts page and Daves dad contacted me to say son was very unwell and not sure he would pull though. Despite this daves dad took my details as there were still some rings left ready for sale.luckly got one of daves rings it really is gorgeous hopefully he gets better and is able to make more.

  46. Hi everybody,…Just recieved an e-mail from David Courts, and he say’s both himself, and Bill Hackett are working on the ring as I speak. Everything is being done under high magnification, and basically doing it the same way they did it 30 years ago, with attention he said to “bone detail”. Sorry he say’s he cannot yet give a finish date or price, but he said it’s really going to be special. Let’s thank David, Bill, and of course Keith, and I cant wait, this really is going to be special. Thank’s…………Joe

  47. Update to previous post. Sad news from Daves Custom
Skulls. Copied this from his website

    David Caruso Jr. 12-07-63 – 2-15-08 RIP

Dave’s Battle with Cancer ended on 2-15-08. Hopefully you were able to know
him or maybe were one of the few hundred people around the World to have
had the Opportunity to Receive and Enjoy one of his Custom Rings.
He will be Missed by us all.
Feel very lucky to own one of his rings. My thoughts are with his family

  48. I have been on the search for a jawless skull ring, ala “Keith Richards for some time now. I stumbled across this site and was amazed to find something totally devoted to skull rings!
Anyhow, I’ve narrowed my search to Crazy Pigs and I see a few of you have ordered from them. My question is I can’t choose between the Large Evil or the Small Evil. I see the measurements and the large seems very large..the ring size would be 11.5 for a middle finger,
    any comments on these rings

    Thanks

  49. Hi Ron,….Actually I have the large evil skull that I would sell you, but it’s size 11, you would have to size it up a bit. Dont get the small ,cause it’s a good bit smaller, and too small for the middle finger. As you have read David Courts with Keith Richards permission is reproducing the famouse skull ring with some small changes. No price yet, but I can only assume it will be far more than the cost of the Crazy Pig ring. Crazy Pig was my first skull ring, good craftsmanship, but short on detail, a good rock-n-roll ring. If your intrested let me know.

    Joe

  50. Thanks Joe,

I may just go ahead an order directly from Crazy Pigs but thanks for the offer and advice. I wish CP had a little better picture of the ring on their website though. Let me ask, would it be possible for you to send me a picture of yours and e-mail it to me at sabre-boy@comcast.net
This way I can better check the detail? Also, in reading the threads I checked out Dave Caruso’s skull ring and really liked it (looks like less silver weight though)unfortunately in Dave’s recent passing you cannot order from them at this time. Do you know if that will be a permanent situation?

    Thanks

  51. Ron,….I sent some pic’s so let me know what you think. There’s some of good ring’s out there, and few good designers, so check around. Thank’s….Joe

  52. Greetings gents,

Tripped over this site while cruisin for info on skull rings. As a guitar player and a major Keith fan since a young lad – just had to have a ring like his!

I have several Tony Creed pieces – a riffman (skull), a bushido cross ring, an “elements” band, a new ring he calls “The Pope” and another custom riff man on the way.

The news that Courts and Hackett is doing an “authorized” Keith ring is pretty amazing. Any word on when it will be available to order?

    let it rock,

    jack

  53. The Deadringer Skull rings are probably the best skull rings I’ve ever seen in my life, but they’re WAY too expensive, I agree with others that if they dropped the price a bit I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Another good site that sells skull rings is Outrider jewelry (Just google them and their site will pop up) I have a skull ring made by them and while its not as good as a Deadringer, the price is right.

  54. Hi everyone

Nice bone-page you guys got going on here. Found
a high detailed skull from Creep (japan) that
    might be of interest:

    http://www.creep.jp/gallery/creep_skull2.html

Tried to contact them for price, but no reply so far. It’s anatomically one the most correct I’ve come across. Deadringers classic is close but more dramatically styled around the eye sockets and the jaw. Just waiting around for the Courts and Hackett skull like most folks here (hope they won’t price it totally overboard). Meanwhile I keep rockin my classic sterling deadringer.

  55. Billy, deadringer are worth every penny; I retracted that comment after getting one. They’re stunning and not unreasonably priced.

Stedi, I have to have one of those creep rings. If you get in touch with them, let me know how.

  56. Hi,
I havent heard from David Courts for a bit, but as I stated last month he’s working hard on the ring, along with Bill Hackett, and will have something very special when they are done. No price yet but it’s a Courts and Hackett piece, so it might be considerable…..but I hope not also. As I stated before I only have a couple ring’s, but I only look for the most detailed realalistic ring’s out there, and there are not many. SANJIRNO from Japan is huge and the detail is fantastic, along with Progessive silver, but the David Courts ring will be the holy grail, and after 30 years of waiting for a ring like Keith’s a little longer wont kill me…LOL. I’ll keep you posted, Thank’s
    Joe

  57. Thank’s for the info for “CREEP” website, I believe I may have heard of that designer before. I think he may have run “HOLY SIVER” , I know that designer was a former dental tech. Anyway I e-mailed him today about ordering the skull ring (great detail)…..oh my poor wallet…LOL, but I love it. Thank’s again for the info.
    Joe

  58. Hi,
I will post the info, and if I dont get a response I can probably get through to him through the designer at progessive silver, I believe they are good friends, and I believe it’s the same guy. Thank’s
    Joe

  59. Have you tried Silverlogystore on Ebay they do a great realistic skull ring. Got one a few weeks ago great quality + quick delivery from USA to Scotland. Also do other good skull rings and cheap too

  60. I had a Keef ring made for me on my 21st in the shop in Harrow (c 1990) and there is one dominant differentiation between all these copies.
If you know what, then you don’t deserve the ring…

  61. Hi,
Recieved an e-mail from Naoki from CREEP. The ring is 299.75, and he doesnt speak english, or ship outside Japan, but he will if I walk him through it, basically like Sajinro. I’ll let you know how it turns out, and if he would be willing to take more orders. Hope also that David Courts has some good news. Thank’s

  65. To David:

I recently inquired about a Keith Richards jawless replica through your website before reading this forum and after reading that Keith has given permission to release authentic pieces done by you, needless to say I was stoked! I can’t wait for the release. My contact info is in the email so please let me know when the piece is perfected!

  66. Hi,
Just recieved the new ring from Masayoshi, and all I can say is FANTASTIC , and the best in my collection right now. Go to his myspace to see a new album of photo’s of it, and some of his other work. He did it in a “scratched oxidized finish” and it came out great.
Did hear back from David Courts, and he said he was still working on the size issues, so the ring will look grat in any size, and he say’s thank’s for all the patience, and that it will be all well worth it. Cant wait to see this new masterpiece! Thank’s, and thank’s for checking out Masayoshi’s work.
    Joe

  67. Hi Guys… I stumbled across this page some time ago and have been dying to hear…any update on progress from Mr Courts regarding THE ring?

  68. Hi Scott, Just go to the Courts and Hackett website and get on the list for prior notification. Its been over a year since I first e-mailed David Courts about the possibility of doing a ring , and it should be available anytime now . In the meantime check out some of the work by Masayoshi Yoshino , go to his myspace for some great videos and pic’s of his work . His rings are fantastic. Joe

  69. Much appreciated Joe.

I’ll keep an eye on the Courts and Hackett website and checkout some of the work by Masayoshi Yoshino.

    Cheers
    SH

  70. Does anyone have any info on the david courts keith richards reproduction skull ring? Any pictures or word of how good it turned would be great, thanks.

  71. THE VERY BEST IN SKULL RINGS IS MORPHICDESIGN.com VERY REALISTIC….DEADRINGER ARE OK,BUT NEEDS TO RE-ADJUST THE CONFIGURATION OF THE LOWER JAW….TOO SMALL.CREED AND THE WALL AND THE REST ARE JUST JUNK MONKEY MAN LOOKING.TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELVES.THIS GUY WILL MAKE THEM RIGHT!!!!!!!

  72. Hey, Kali, I’ll leave your comment, but I’m removing your links because:

    1) it’s pretty spammy looking

    2) you type all in caps, which means you’re SHOUTING AT US

    3) you’re bagging on better designers while pointing us to a cheap-looking site full of cheesy knock-off designs.

But you have a right to add to the conversation, even if you do have poor manners.

  73. Hey,
Interesting that one would draw such a conclusion from all caps? I am not bagging for better designers, but only stating what I have seen on the market. This guy does a one man operation.I have about a dozen skull rings from many artists, and this guy simply does the best.I don’t have poor manners,as it is only the truth.I did use lower case this time,so I don’t shout too loud for you.A cheap-looking site full of cheesy knock-off designs.Talk about poor manners? His work speaks for itself.PISS OFF

  74. Kali, let’s start with some basics of net communication:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_caps
    http://email.about.com/cs/netiquettetips/qt/et020801.htm
    http://www.hoax-slayer.com/do-not-use-all-capitals.html

These are not the rules, they’re documentation of the reality, since the early days of the internet (and yes, i’ve been here long enough to know it, I really have been here that long).

Bottom line: ALL CAPS is shouting.

Now that that’s out of the way, you need to understand this is a personal blog; you walked in, bagging on two of my favorite designers AND my personal friends. There’s just no way that’s not rude and offensive. Imagine if I walked into your living room and started to bag on your friends, and then suggested you buy something from me? Odds are you’d respond with negativity and hostility, and deservedly so.

You drop in on my blog, SHOUT ABOUT HOW MY FRIENDS SUCK, and then post a link to a site (and link back to it as your own in the URL field); the only way to take that is that you’re an ill-mannaered spammer hawking your own site.

If you’re just a fan of morphicdesign and not directly involved in marketing said site, then i take that back; it could be a mistaken impression based on your dropping in two links to it; I do plead a poor reaction based on your SHOUTING.

As to my judgment that morphic’s site looks kinda cheap, I’ll stick by that. The knock-offs? Shrug. I find the work generic, like a lot of other designers (some of whom I even like). Knock-off may not be accurate, though I don’t really care for the work. Again though, my poor reaction has a lot to do with your aggressive and rude approach here on MY PERSONAL SITE (and yes, that’s shouting, on purpose).
