I’m trying to help a non-techie windows user ftp upload a bunch of data to my server for safe storage.

Trouble is, when I think ftp, I think unix/macos command line (the way I do it):

     [motorhead:~] kmac% ncftp -u username hostname.com

So I need to direct said user to a good, easy to use windows tool/method.

It’s been six years since I’ve touched a windows machine. I have no idea what to set her up with.

Help a brutha out, windows geeks.

  1. FTP Commander and CuteFTP are highly recommended (Why the heck didn’t you let me know FTP was an option?). The missus has used CuteFTP for a bit–it’s pretty straight-forward.

To bring things back down, on the Mac side, RBrowser Lite (a freebie) is pretty easy to work with–a nice step beyond Fetch.

  2. I just don’t have much to say recently. Such is life. I’ve basically been doing nothing. Basically nothing seems worth bothering with. Oh well.
