Due to an unexpected schedule change, The Moronosphere and all it’s related blogs and domains will be moving to a new physical server this week. Not the best timing for me, personally but I live here by the good grace and generosity of my friend Brandon, and so I am grateful even if a bit frazzled.

What all this means is that this site may unexpectedly vanish for a day or so while we change ip addresses; comments may cease to work while databases are moved.

If that happens, don’t worry; being a fly-by-night sort of operation, we’re flying-by-night (oh god stop me from quoting a rush song). Things should stabilize by next week, on bigger, better, faster hardware.

  1. The funny thing, DN, is that my mom just called me after reading the above post. She laughed at the ‘quoting a rush lyric’ line (she knows what a total rush head I was way back when).

She then went on to tell me about the heat and her quest to get a new A/C unit, and in the middle of this story she made a joke about it not being the heat, but the humidity – and my brain was right back to a rush song:

    It’s not the heat
    It’s the inhumanity

I just can’t fuckin’ help it some days.

  2. Nah, syl, you’re good (excellent, actually – wait was that my outside voice?), carry on. I’ll move you after my animal-testing on circe is complete.

  3. eh, i’m just too tired to finish my planned post tonight, anyway. it was running long and I can’t think.

so have at it whenever, just let me know when you’re done and the ftp is dealt with, and then I’ll fix up ecto and post. I’ll be asleep for the next 8 hours, anyway, so what better time…

    or whenever it works.

btw, started to check out the Leopard keynote, but didn’t finish. any idea if it’ll be functional on non-intel macs?
