iPhone

I’ve talked to a few of you about the project I’ve been busting ass on since before xmas – up nights supporting a development team in another time zone, etc. Here’s why: It won’t be out ’til june. But I want one.

  1. You know, I think I say this about every quarter, but it’s days like today that I really envy you your job. Damned lucky bastard (though I know you work excellently hard for it!). 😀

  2. Merrick, i’ve never even seen the unit. It’s just a damned code number too me until we announce ’em. I just handle moving data around. So when Big Steve announced it today, I went oooh, ahhh along with everyone else.

  3. My honey has been talking about this for awhile, hoping the rumors he’d heard were true. I have a feeling that June won’t come soon enough for him.

As for me? All I have to say is: Wow. Even my nipples are all tingly. So very pretty.

    I think I need a cigarette…

  4. You know, that must be an awesome feeling for Jobs, walking into the MacExpo with the only existing copy of a product he knows everyone will want.

“This is MY phone. There will soon be many like it, but this one is mine.”

Kinda surprised at the relative lack of attention being paid to the AppleTV concept, compared to the iPhone, though. Long term, I think the TV device shows more potential.

  5. Carole Elaine, your tingly nipples alone make it worth every minute of hard work.

Jen, yeah, but that’s just cause I’m a tools/environment/data management guy. So if apple makes something, in a sense if goes thorugh my hands. Sexy products, and non-sexy products.

Brandon – the stock market was paying attention to the lot of it. We went up seven bucks today. The tv box just ain’t as sexy. People are having a harder time grasping what it does. The phone that’s also an ipod, movie player, web browser, that’s easy to grasp. B^)

  6. Hey! I saw that in the paper this morning! It looked cool then, but the picture on black is awesome. Everything about it looks good. Everything about it sounds good. Think I want one as well! Congrats for being a part of it!

  7. See? Hiromi, you’re the target market. Geeks want one, sure. But we got you, the non-geek, to desire it.

That’s why our stock’s still going up. By the time this is available we’ll already own the smart-phone market. B^)

  8. The interesting thing for me is that the iPhone has way more potential than iTV. next-next generation iTV with Tivo built in is the docking station for the next-next generation of this guy. It’s the travel companion of the commuter and has the potential to change the way people interact with TV in a way iTV doesn’t.

Right now: Insufficient storage, wrong applications.

It’ll be great as an iPod/PDA/phone, though. Too bad it doesn’t work in Japan.
