(waves goodbye)

A year ago, I made a silly, whim purchase. It was a deal, as they say, too good to pass up, on a vehicle I loved, but never really felt good about.

Since buying my Titan, I’ve loved driving it, hated parking it, enjoyed it’s roominess, made great use of it’s functionality for hauling, and increasingly, raged at it in gas stations.

My friends asked to borrow it, asked me to help them move, and lambasted me over global warming, the death of polar bears, melting ice caps.

And I’ve never quite dealt with it being, you know, tan.

Today I gave up. Dinosaurs, inevitably, must seek tar pits.

You’re only as young as you drive, and my new ride is pretty fucking young.

  1. Yay!

But dude, we never found out if my Prius could fit in the back of your Titanic.

I am sorry for your loss, but not much. I’ve got to get rid of my wife’s old Caravan. It’s as old as my oldest kid and it’s down to around 16 mpg. :O

I hope you gotz a woofer and a coffee can for that or the young kids will laugh at you. 😀

  2. I miss my jeep more than any vehicle I’ve ever owned, but I have need of more back seat than it offered. There’s another jeep in my future though, that’s for damn sure.

But I like it because it’s a tiny pimp mobile; though mine in black isn’t quite as pimp as this one:

  3. Hey, they changed the shape — it looks like a teeny SUV now. I used to have an xA, but I downsized even further and got the bike.

  4. I have to say, after driving this car for a week, that it *rocks*.

For the money, it’s just a hell of a lot of car. The handling and power are FAR better than one would expect, I’m averaging 22 mpg (and that’s almost all city driving). With my lead foot, that’s a really good number, and dead on what the spec says.

Once I got my own head unit (Pioneer AVID-D3, which has some good power and very good ipod integration) in place of the stock stereo, the sound is decent; nothing I feel like I have to replace right this second.

What’s still coming is the rear spoiler (yes, i need the wing), and some better rims/tires (because the stockers, pictured above) are lame.

After that, flames, baby! Something like this, color TBD. Because it’s the kind of car that just begs for them.

There are about a billion things one can do to this car; performance mods, body mods, interior. The kids seem to like to lower ’em but I don’t like to slow down for speed bumps, so that’s out. Basically, I am trying to figure out what mods will make me the happiest and start there, without spending stupid amounts of money.
