This one time at band camp...

Exactly two people are going to kill me for this, but I got a scanner and like Ashley I just can't help myself.

Franklin band trip to Orlando, 1980.

The hottie on the right in the red shorts is Robin Kemp of Every Poet Needs A Patio. It would figure that the only photo taken inside the Magic Kingdom that survived was an ass shot:

The surprised young man on the band bus with the fashionable afro and Sonny Rollins glued to his ear is Delfeayo Marsalis:

Five bucks if you automagically make the computer play the Spinal Tap song "Big Bottom" if anybody clicks on that picture.

Hey! Why didn't you post the really good pictures here? I love the one from your days on "My Three Sons."

Now, here's a very *New Orleans* band trip story for you:

I played percussion in the band at Dominican High when I was a freshman (1976-77), only because there was a band trip to Disney World and I wanted to go. But I made all kinds of excuses to get out of marching in the Mardi Gras parades because I was afraid I might be seen by someone I knew from one of the bars I frequented and I'd be outed as a minor. Sister Hillary then barred me from the Disney trip. I still think I think I made the right choice.

It's probably not the ONLY one to survive, just the only one you can get your mitts on....
From the viewpoint of those involved, this may not be a bad thing ;P

All high school band trip pictures must be identical-I swear I've seen that top one before (not the Marsalis one).

What instrument, Ray?

That's the classic newbie Disney pose...you wander up Main Street in awe of the castle, and when you finally get there you realize you have six different directions you can go, so everybody clusters around the map.

Alto sax.

You gotta pay to play. If you like what you see, then you have to link to my blog. :))

Besides, that particular piece of real estate is now the exclusive personal property of my dear wife.
