Slaughtering the fatted redfish

Got field reports via text message from Loki and Maitri regarding the relentless turkey genocide going on in the city. At our house, the bird was safe, as instead we vanquished our seagoing enemies, feasted on their flesh and heard the lamentations of their women.

Redfish courtbouillon, from Tuesday's catch

Then we had pie.

I'm not much of a fish eater but damn that looks good!

Okay, I confess: I broasted a turkey in thick bacon and maple syrup after stuffing it with onions and herbs.

Will the NOPD be here soon? I have lots left over.

The kids had Powerade and pie, does that count?

Whirly, it's the eyes. It's always fun to eat something that still has eyes.

Morwen, maybe we should come over and help you get rid of the evidence.

My new BF and I visited friends for the TG dinner. Everyone else at the table went the prosaic turkey route, but I opted to slaughter a block of tofu and pan-fry it with homemade peanut sauce - yum!

(No, really, it was good!)

Happy belated TG Day, Ray!

Ooh, now where's my pie...

It was sorta kinda courtbouillon-y, but not as tomato-y as they do around here. I was wingin' it.

If Arabi has stuff going on that week I'll post it. Otherwise, I know Common Ground is doing a big push to try to get volunteers over the holidays to finish all the houses on their waiting list before the end of the year. Details at http://www.commongroundrelief.org
