K-Ville trailer

Honestly, I don't completely hate it. I mean, I don't necessarily like it, but I don't hate it as much as I thought I would.

There are some good aspects of this.

One thing they need to clarify: that line about "And the criminals are everywhere."

Add this:
"And many of them are wearing suits or golf shirts or ACOE jumpsuits, using phrases like 'moving forward.'"

I totally thought this was some kind of spoof until halfway into it.

Isn't that the "Burger Shack" guy from "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle?"

Hey, I'm watchin' it. They're shooting here, they're helping the economy, and it doesn't look like it sucks completely.

I'm going to watch it and hope it doesn't suck and hope that if indeed it's good, that FOX doesn't cancel it since they cancel all the good shows.

I watched them filming in Jackson Square on Friday, pretty cool....

K-Ville has brought the film studio trucks back to summer-before Katrina levels, really...

They can stay as long as they like, even if they eat parking spaces for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

It would be interesting to hear more opinions from out of towners like Ms Syl. I would agree with her thinking it was a spoof at first, if I didn't know better. I pretty much hate the trailer but I'm gonna watch and see.

It's great they're filming and doing business here - Lord knows we need it. But we don't need sensationalized crap spewed to the outside.

But. Like I said, I'll give it a chance.

As usual, it will depend on whether or not viewers like the characters. There have been some really bad shows plot-wise that have made it based on a strong and well-developed main character, and some shows with really brilliant concepts and storylines that fail to catch on because the characters seem wooden. Will the main characters here be portrayed as knights in shining armor? Anti-heroes? Or as sort of the Greek-hero-with-a-tragic-flaw types? Who can tell from the trailer? Unfortunately odds are we'll end up getting a sort of Remy McSwain, honest on the "big" things but not beyond turning his head when beneficial or Christmas shopping in the evidence room kind of cop as a hero.

How will K-ville play across America? Well, unfortunately, I just hope things can go against form; generally speaking, Americans don't want to watch something that goes against their preconceived notions...and I don't know if a show about a black NOPD cop who did his duty during Katrina and who continues to serve honorably afterward is what Middle America wants to believe.
