It's getting late is a permanent state

Blue Orchids "Dumb Magician"

We move so fast today
Nothing stands in our way
We're free to act
And forced to pay

Have power over people
Understand the subtlety of body language
One up in every situation
The dumb magician

Sees behind the scenes
The strings attached to all things
This gets me that
The dumb magician

The only way out is up
The only way out is up

He might say if you were to hear him speak
That the secret of revenge is to turn the other cheek
You go away and think about it all week
Dumb magician

We move so fast today
Nothing stands in our way
We're free to act
And forced to pay

Try so hard to get your foot in the door
Get what you ask for and nothing more
It's getting late is a permanent state
The dumb magician

Sees behind the scenes
The strings attached to all things
This gets me that
The dumb magician

The only way out is up
The only way out is up
The only way out is up
The only way out is up
The only way out is up
The only way out is up
The only way out is up...

Last time I felt this bad about my job was mid-August 2005, but I was soon distracted.

Sorry it's been suckin at the job. I think I can say "I feel ya", a bit.

Hope it gets better for you, again, soon. (Minus the cataclysmic distraction part.)

Here's hoping this time around it's resolved in a more targeted way with less impact on major urban areas.

Not that you're not worth leveling cities for or anything.

Pssst... EMP. Got one?

Grind it out, man. I was ready to quit many times, but my NY State job was so boring that I couldn't do without it. I actually have some neurons that fire after 35 years of blithering bureaucracy. Reading Kafka helps some.

Ray, you in the wrong occupation, or with the wrong employer? These bursts come with territory, you must know. Nuthing so bursty as life in the FD, though.
