Do You Know...the Book
The book in which my New Orleans piece will appear now has a working title: Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans?
Craig Mod from Chin Music Press is doing the book design, and is blogging the design process at the Chin Music blog. It's fascinating reading, especially considering how well-received the design of Kuhaku was (which I hope to get a copy of real soon). The Chin Music folks are book geeks, design geeks, music geeks, coffee geeks, Japan geeks, and now, God love 'em, budding young New Orleans geeks.
I've also got a PDF of the DYK press packet, with my bio in it.
My bio. Is that like the dorkiest thing ever, or what?

Bravo! My goodness, with all these real author types around me it's about time I got off my duff and worked toward being published. My print calalog is quite scanty aside from snarky editorials and those sticky pieces that began, "Dear Penthouse Forum...".
Ahem.
Seriously, I think it's terrific your writing is in print. Will you be selling autographed copies? Your entries about the changing face of your home, the loss of character and gentrification et al, have inspired me to work on a piece of my own. Not about New Orleans, I've never been there, but about the changes here. Thanks for the bug in my ear.
Congrats again, ~LA

That is so completely awesome!! I can't think of someone whose New orleans stories I'd rather read.

I am so excited, I cannot *wait* to see how this book will look. It sounds like it will be simply gorgeous, even without the fine writing from authors I know in it (and, er, from my own self).

Ha! Actually, they suggested a bio to me which was mostly lifted from the "About" link on my blog (under my my cartoon picture). Except they also found the Freebird thing when they were googling me, so they wanted to mention that.
Ya think the Freebird thing is a bit much?
