Who Is This Ray Guy?

I was born into a big Irish/German family in Boston, grew up in New Orleans, went to college in Houston, spent a few years in San Francisco, and a lot more years in Austin.

In July of 2006, I moved back to New Orleans with my family. A few years later stuff happened, and I ended up coming back to Austin to be near my kids.

I'm a single dad, an old-school Java geek, a startup burnout, former non-commercial radio nerd, tattoo fan, and I cook a badass crawfish etouffee. Chin Music Press made the mistake of publishing a story of mine after the storm, so now I also go around pretending to be some kind of writer. I've had fiction and non-fiction published in Ghoti Magazine and The Northville Review, and have more coming out in Where We Know: New Orleans as Home and A Howling in the Wires.

Where Y'at, Ray?

Email or IM me anytime, I'm pretty friendly. Don't let the whole curmudgeon thing put you off, that's pretty much just an act. Jackass.
