Why am I anonymous? This blog is a safe place where I can talk about my recovery from alcoholism and sexual trauma (see "My story" on the sidebar for specific posts about these experiences).

It's not all angst, though! I don't take myself too seriously; my recovery would have gone nowhere were it not for my ability to laugh at myself. But in any case, recovery is rooted in the everyday, so I talk about all kinds of things. My interests are pretty broad -- I go on and on about my obsessions (motorcycling and food), bang my head against the wall on various social issues, grumble and grouse, and otherwise ponder the utterly mundane.

Obviously, I'm Asian: Japanese-American, third generation. I'm fluent in Japanese, but I learned it while living there as an adult. I feel I must warn people - please - do not try to engage me by talking about Japanese stuff, or any sort of Asian stuff, unless you're Asian.
