Take that, Ay-rabs!

A little while ago, I pulled up to the pump and it read "$70.22." I let out a long gleeful internal cackle and walked away having paid only $6.50 or so. I pay this about three or four times a month; I get 60 mpg with city riding (other people who do mostly highway on my model of bike get 70 mpg).

I do, however, miss listening to the radio. I also miss wearing things like skirts and sandals, and I'm tired of constantly fixing my hair after taking off my helmet. But with a gas bill of only around $25 a month, I get to feel wonderfully smug.

It's a good reason to be a biker, IMO. And a reason I'm saving for a bike after the July reunion.
As far as helmet hair, I just picked up a sticker at Biker Rags today (got my jacket for the trip! $69.00 on sale, traditional men's leather jacket. The women's sizes were $99) ...sticker that says "Hairdo By Helmet".... Seems to fit :)

The title reminds me of a very stupid but funny radio ad I hear whenever I'm in upstate NY that goes: "The Saudis say they hate us! They can't say anything good about the US after all we've done for them! Well, here at Big Chief Gas, we get our gasoline from our buddies in Canada. Let Saudi Arabia sell their gas to the French!"

Yeh, I'd enjoyed pulling up to the pump and it saying $20-30 and then when I filled up it would say $2.50-3, but recently its been saying $8.50-9

Back when they hadn't started selling them yet and they were listing the price as ~$8k I was first tempted towards the evil-scooter-side by Vectrix (electric scooter):

then when they actually started selling them at ~$11k I was less tempted.

Now I think I'm being tempted again.

The bus is my mode of transportation, and I blow a kiss to my bus pass every time I go near a gas station. Like you I've had to give up a few things (some of my sanity?), but it's worth it.

the trade off is your rear tire may last only three thousand miles depending on how soft a compound it is
