Bra love
I don't have a large income, so forking over $50 for a bra made me cringe, but I haven't bought a bra in, well, years, and I was getting sick of the straps of ill-fitting bras slipping down my shoulders. I should relax about the price because I take such scrupulous care of my clothes that they last for years and years. Anyway, It Was Time. So I hied myself to the mall the other day and bought a Wacoal t-back bra. It fits *perfectly*. No wires dig into my flesh. Nothing protrudes weirdly. Aaaahhh...I'm sure my female readers can relate to this feeling.
I foresee some wiseass might make a comment questioning why women bother wearing bras, but I'm not comfortable with even the minimal amount of jiggle that my small boobs produce. Bralessness feels too exposed for me. I've experimented with bralessness in the past, but I feel vulnerable when I do it, even if I'm wearing a camisole/shirt combination. Too bad strapless bras feel so weird, though. I feel like they're going to fall down any minute, even if they fit well.

Wacoal bras are amazing (I've also had good luck with DKNY). I got fitted a few months ago and it was an eye opening experience, apparently I had never owned a bra that fit correctly. Life is so much easier now that I don't have to worry about bra issues. I'm with you on $50 being too much though.

I actually went to a specialty shop to get fitted, the kind of place that does post-mastectomy garments and such. Basically, they know everything there is to know about bras. The bra I got from them fit magnificently, and I hated it, a lot. Never figured out why, exactly. But in the process, I learned a LOT about how to get myself good ones. It's definitely improved my life.
So, yeah, I relate.

Oooo, I hate it when my man-boobs jiggle. What was the name of that bra again? :-)

I wouldn't survive without racer-back bras. I get mine from Decent Exposures (I think the link is right - can't check it at work, since women in bras are apparently too racy for the firewall rules), along with my once-every-few-years bathing suit. I own one or two non-racer-backs (my 'dress' bras), and they constantly feel like they're falling off my shoulders.
The other advantage for me was that they support more across my back, and I feel less like my boobs are suspended from the shoulder straps. About a year or so after switching, I realized the indentations where straps had been cutting into my shoulders for years had finally gone away.
Yay for comfy bras!

My bra is the first thing I ditch when I get home from work. Week-ends are bra-free! Yay! Of course, strenuous athletics are not practiced in my world. heh. I have yet to find one that's comfortable - maybe I should try Wacoal. $50.00 would be worth it if it's comfortable. :)

Shit, man, you gotta have a bra that hits. Gotta. It's not real cool, but I always go to a department store to get measured, find out if my size has changed, and then buy one bra, so the nice lady still gets her commission. Then I go to Target and stock up.
