Thank you
We make this distinction between "the real world" and the electronic world of the internet, but I think that that is false. Your comments and emails meant a lot to me, and the strength of the reaction of some of you made me realize how much I had been minimizing what happened to me. In truth, I was very surprised at those reactions; I really thought it was no big deal, and simply gettting away from it would be sufficient. Anyway, I've found the real crux of my mental issues -- my unwillingness to deal with the emotional fallout from my marriage -- and that'll be the start of real healing.
Thanks to every one of you. I'm moving tomorrow, a symbolic start to getting better.

The last time I stubbed my toe it was very "real". I think most of us are pretty real people, at least from what I see in your comments.
And I am sure most of us would come help you move if we weren't on the other side of the world. Mercifully, I am about as far away from Austin "By God" Texas as is possible and still be on the planet.
Have a good begining to the best part of your life.

There is always emotional fallout. And it's always hard. It takes time. Take care. And good luck with your move- that's not easy either.

Hope the new place has that perfect light you enjoy so much! P.S. That "X" of yours had much bigger problems then you...he should come with a warning lable.

I'm no shrink, but I think a new place can sometimes act as a fresh sheet of paper to start a new work on.
Are you moving into that old place that you talked about earlier?

I want to join in the general feeling of "good for you" but am self-conscious that anything extra that I write will be trite. Nevertheless here goes. You have my boundless admiration for surviving in the first place, and for writing about it in the second. You deserve to survive and succeed, and it seems quite likely that with reasonable good fortune you will. For what they are worth you have my endless best wishes.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say good luck from all of us. We're all rooting for you.

Women like you, having the strength to grow through the change, are an inspiration.
