It's been a looong time.
How have you been?
In an "about me" I wrote, sometime before we switched versions of movable type, I made a promise that I've been trying to keep (and that I stil hold myself to whether or not you're aware of it). There was also a couple quotes, which also still feel appropriate. The quote was by Steve McQueen, which said "I live for myself, and I answer to no man". or something like that. It was a reminder to myself that I do this shit for me, and that I write when I want to write, even if that means this place lies fallow for months, even years at a time. If you don't like that, fuck off. But the promise was a promise not to bullshit you, and it was really a promise not to bullshit myself, And that's what's been on my mind the last 3 days or so. Because there's some stuff I've been wanting to finish up, for me, stuff that needs to be outside my head now.
What actually dragged me in here was the comments. For some reason I'm getting about 70-100 spam comments every single day. I just upped the aggressiveness of the spam filter as high as it would go and deleted everything I could find. I might have been overzealous so if I deleted a real live comment from one of my 3(4?) readers I'm truly sorry.
The stuff I was talking about back in November and December is still very immediate for me, still very much on my mind. Let's keep this short; I have some stuff coming down the pipe. I'll continue shortly.
Let me know if you want me to turn on a CAPTCHA for you to stop those stupid things. I hate the spam so much.
I always like this one for a minute and then get tired of it when I look at it for long. It's one of those pure novelty things.
on CAPTCHA: I'm intruiged, but as I noted, it took me over a year just to change the style the page was rendered in. Which relates to your other comment and yeah, it hurts my eyes too. That's why I need to change the images and tone it down a few notches. What I really need is a friend with good photoshop skills. What will actually happen is I'll dick around a bit and in a few months you'll be able to read this without your eyes bleeding.
