Noir Bird

This was really just a test of the new version (v2.0) of Nik Silver EFEX Pro plugin, but it came out pretty well.

Camera Panasonic DMC-G2
Lens Lumix G Vario 45-200mm
Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 189 mm
ISO Speed 100
Model Elphie

(my friend Deborah describe Elphie as my muse. She’s no muse. She’s just a captive I can easily use at whim B^) )

  1. That Polaroid-esque edge on that print is an interesting referent to a different day. Instant it was, but digital it was not.
I think the compression has been hard on E’s feather details.
I love that grayscale, though. Nothing else like it.

  2. There’s more feather detail visible in the larger version (on flickr), but yes, the noir treatment intentionally makes it very grainy.

I love silver FX 2. It’s just the best B&W tool I’ve seen.
