Brutha Ray has a link – N.O. Mayor Ray Nagin gives an absolutely blistering interview with local news guy Garland Robinette.
Taped last night, Thursday Sept 1.
Listen. Just fucking listen.
I want to post quotes from this thing but there are too many. This is an angry, righteously indignant man, asking the simple question, where the hell is the help from my government?
Go listen to it. I have tears in my eyes at the end of it, both men reduced to speechless, tearful frustration and sorrow.
EDIT:
Here’s a transcript of the interview. But it’s better listened to.

I don’t know what it means – to miss New Orleans
I’ve never been there, and I wonder if there will ever be anything to see. But if you go to Ray’s or Karl’s websites and listen to New Orleans’ Mayor Ray Nagin has to say you will feel his frustration.
Makes me want to cry.
…
It is depressing, but hopefully some positive change will come from this. People might realize that unless you have money, it seems to be that you are useless to the government.
I have read that the rich people got out safe and sound.
And here we are.
I think I Posted a comment at Ray’s by accident. It didn’t show up here.
I just wanted to say thank you for the script version since my speakers are fucked up, and like the empty suits, I’m deaf.
